FAQ

Straight answers about who we are, what we build, and how we work. Twenty questions. No filler.

01

What exactly does ArtiDev do?

We are an AI-native venture studio based in Singapore. We build our own AI-powered products and take on a small number of client engagements each year where we design, build, and ship alongside the founding team. We are not a development agency. We are operators who also build for others, and that distinction matters in how we work.

02

Who is ArtiDev for?

Three kinds of people come to us. Founders who have a clear problem but need an engineering and product partner to build the solution. Businesses that have something built on an AI coding tool and need it turned into something production-ready. And enterprises who need AI integrated into existing operations rather than bolted on as an afterthought.

03

What products has ArtiDev built?

We've built scores of products, both internally & for our partners. A few are presented in our portfolio : QuikWit (AI chatbot and lead capture for SMEs), Zentring (fully autonomous AI calling for inbound and outbound), Klear (GST-compliant expense management for Singapore businesses), Nestly (rental portfolio management for property agents), Propell (AI coordination platform for real estate agents), and Hello Kisan (agricultural intelligence for smallholder farmers in India). Two discovery-stage products are in scoping: MedAI EHR, an AI enabled Electronic Health Record system and FloCore AI, an AI enabled pump selection platform being designed as a modern alternative to SPAIX.

04

How is working with ArtiDev different from hiring a development agency?

Agencies deliver to spec. We work from first principles, starting with the problem, shaping the product logic, and then building it. We are product-led, which means we will push back on requirements that do not serve the user. Scopes are fixed and priced clearly before work starts. And because we operate our own products, we understand what it takes to go from a prototype to something users actually depend on.

05

Do you work with code built on tools like Lovable, v0, Replit, or Glide?

Yes, and it is a significant part of what we do. These tools produce working prototypes fast. What they leave behind is a codebase that was never designed to survive real users: missing authentication, brittle data models, no deployment pipeline, no error handling. We take what has been built and restructure it into something production-grade, without throwing away the work already done.

06

What does production-ready actually mean?

It means the product works reliably under real users, not just in a local browser tab. Specifically: a secure authentication system, a structured database that does not break under load, a deployment pipeline that lets you ship updates without fear, proper error handling so crashes do not reach users, and a codebase your team can actually read and iterate on. These are not extras. They are the baseline for anything you would put in front of customers.

07

Do you handle authentication and user management?

Yes. If your project needs login functionality, we build it properly from the start. Secure authentication, session handling, and user management designed around your specific product. No generic solutions dropped in without thought.

08

Do you handle databases and backend architecture?

Yes, and this is often where the most meaningful improvements happen. AI-generated backends tend to have structural issues that are invisible early on and painful later. We restructure databases, improve data modelling, optimise queries, and make sure the backend is built to handle growth without failing.

09

Is my project kept confidential?

Completely. Your project is only accessible to the engineers assigned to it. We treat all project information with strict confidentiality and sign NDAs on request before anything is shared. What you bring to us does not leave our team.

10

Do you store my code after the project finishes?

Only what is necessary for support and legal compliance. Once a project wraps up, we are happy to remove access and all project materials on request. Your work stays yours.

11

Do you take on early-stage or pre-revenue projects?

Yes, under the right conditions. We evaluate projects on the strength of the problem, the founder's domain depth, and whether the market is real. If we believe in it, we will structure the engagement accordingly: sometimes fixed-scope, sometimes with an equity component, sometimes both. Book a call and let's have an honest conversation about where you are.

12

How long does a typical project take?

Scope determines timeline. Most builds move in focused two-to-four week sprints. A production-ready M1 prototype for a well-scoped product typically takes four to six weeks. Larger platform builds, integrations, and multi-feature scopes take longer. After reviewing what you have, we will give you a realistic timeline, not an optimistic one.

13

How much does it cost?

Pricing is project-based, not hourly. After an initial conversation, we provide a fixed quote for the defined scope. You know exactly what you are getting and what it costs before work starts. No scope creep billed as extras, no surprise invoices at the end.

14

Do you offer ongoing support after a project?

Yes. A lot of our clients continue working with us after the initial build because software is never really finished. We offer ongoing support for continuous improvements, new feature development, maintenance, and infrastructure monitoring. If you want a structured ongoing arrangement, we can discuss a retainer that fits your pace.

15

Can you help prepare a product for investors or a public launch?

That is one of the things we do well. Whether you are preparing a demo for investors, gearing up for a public launch, or scaling to your first real wave of users, we make sure the product holds up. Solid software makes a stronger impression than any slide deck.

16

What if my project is completely broken?

Bring it. Broken projects are not unusual for us. We have worked with codebases that barely run, apps that work locally but fail in production, and AI-generated code that has never seen a real user. We dig in, diagnose what is wrong, and give you a clear plan for fixing it.

17

Do you rewrite projects from scratch?

Only when there is genuinely no better option. We would rather rescue and improve what already exists: it is faster, cheaper, and preserves the work already done. A full rewrite is a last resort for situations where the foundation is too broken to build on.

18

What technologies do you work with?

We work across modern web stacks: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and cloud deployments. We also have deep experience with projects originating on AI coding platforms. Not sure if your stack qualifies? Bring it to the call and we will figure it out together.
